President |Chandar Sen, Pacific Engineering Projects
Chandar Sen is the Managing Director of Pacific Engineering Projects Ltd and Director of 2SEN Ltd and RNK Sen Group Ltd. Previous roles include: Robt Stone & Co Ltd (General Manager Projects), Fiji Electricity Authority (Acting Hydro Engineer Power) and Fiji Sugar Corporation Ltd (Mechanical Engineer).
He is President of the New Zealand Fiji Business Council and an Executive council member of the New Zealand PNG Business Council.
Chandar holds a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honors and an Executive MBA, both from the University of Auckland. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer (New Zealand and Samoa), an International Professional Engineer and is a member of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand and the Institution of Professional Engineers Samoa.
Ian Furlong – Pacific Trade & Invest
Manuel Valdez is the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Investment of the Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PT&I) NZ. He leads inward investment initiatives into the Pacific Islands. He has led several investment missions into the islands. He is an economist and investment banker with over 20 years’ experience of business development, joint ventures, inward investment promotion, financial loan packaging on key strategic industries and market research. Manuel worked with key businessmen helping deliver workable business plans for loans and business expansion. He acted as a business consultant to international credit institutions and potential investors in the Philippines. Manuel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economic at the University of the Philippines and a Master’s Degree in Applied Business Economics at the University of Asia and the Pacific. He was also a professor of Managerial Economics for Postgraduate and Master’s degree at different universities in the Philippines.
Kieran O’Neill, Nexans
Kieran O’Neill started his career with MEM 500v LTD in Birmingham England as a Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Apprentice completing his training in 1996 and graduating from Matthew Bolton College with a HNC in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. Kieran continued to work at MEM 500v as a Production Manager before leaving to come to New Zealand in 2002. Kieran has worked for Olex Nexans for 10 years. His current role has seen him involved in major projects notably in the medium voltage and submarine cables being installed in Fiji, Solomon’s, Cook island and New Caledonia.
The highlight of my role is seeing the difference that reliable power can make to a community and to the overall country, both socially and economically.

Jeffery Nathan is the Account Manager at Aon New Zealand (#1 in Insurance Broking & Risk Management in the World). He has been with Aon for about 18 years (11 years in Asia and 7 years in New Zealand) with approximately 20 years work experience in the insurance industry. He currently provides advice on General Insurance to Corporate clients. Graeme Solloway, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise
Graeme commenced as Market Manager Australia Pacific for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in November 2014. NZTE is New Zealand’s business development agency, working with companies to assist their business growth through development of international markets, building of capability within firms and attraction of investment.
Based in Auckland, Graeme is part of NZTE’s Australia Pacific regional team supporting business engagement into the Pacific Island countries and Timor Leste. He also works closely with NZTE’s team of Trade Commissioners and Business Development Managers on key activity in Australia and Papua New Guinea. Previous to this role Graeme was Leader of NZTE’s marine programme working with companies in the areas of marine equipment and electronics, advanced materials, supply chain integration and high performance boats for recreational and commercial purposes.
From 2008 to 2012 Graeme was New Zealand Trade Commissioner to the Republic of Korea, based in Seoul.
Graeme’s has a science background, commencing as an exploration geologist in Western Australia. From there he moved into roles in ICT and telecommunications at IBM New Zealand and Telecom New Zealand, before joining NZTE in 2006. Graeme has a Bachelor of Science (with Honours) in Geology, and an MBA.
